Our resident Biogas aficionado...
Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket
Small scale biogas systems start with your fuel needs, waste and odor
mitigation are prime benefits. Here's the basis for our system it is out
dated but considers efficiencies and what we might consume (Household
Fuel Requirements).

In the 80's I did
manage to get a digester running. Yes my
parents were supportive, how many let you fill giant tractor inner tubes with
flammable gas?

| A word on efficiency before we move on. The BTU
values above include inefficiencies and 62% is typical for hot
water heaters and bet it's similar to heat a pot of water on the stove.
With that said here is a ROI thought experiment... |

So how do you make 1150 gallons of biogas per day?
A horse makes how much poo?
