There are three "speeds" of gait in the Paso Finos - the Fino, the Corto and the Largo.  While many Paso Finos are capable of executing all three gaits, the individual conformation of a Paso Fino can lend itself to being able to execute some of the gaits more effortlessly than another.  For example, a straighter shoulder might lend itself better to a Fino gait, whereas a longer, sloping shoulder can make a Largo a breeze.

Our Paso Finos are what can be described as the "Largo" variety.  This term refers to the speed and length of stride, which is longer and faster than the stride of a "Fino" type of Paso Fino.  The word "Fino" means "Fine" in Spanish.  "Corto" means "short" and "Largo" means "long".

Our fondness for Endurance Riding and need for "family friendly" horses required us to focus on even temperaments and a longer stride to help the miles fly by.  The requirements on our "wish list" brought us to our Coral LaCE offspring, as Coral LaCE is known for passing on wonderful dispositions and range of gait to his get.  You can read more about Coral LaCE here:

We look forward to seeing their talents develop as they grow!
